The King’s Singers, an ensemble group of 6 singers are double Grammy® award-winning artists, honored in 2009 for their Signum Classics release, Simple Gifts, and again in 2012 for their contribution to Eric Whitacre’s Light & Gold album on Decca. In June 2013 they were chosen as one of only two vocal ensembles to enter the Gramophone Hall of Fame, honored for their unique discography of over 150 albums. (www.kingssingers.com, “About Us”)

Recently the King’s Singers initiated a fascinating “Question and Answer” session with TOC Artistic Director, Dr. Tim Sharp, Executive Director of the American Choral Directors Association.  When asked about his love of choral music in particular, Dr. Sharp states,

“As much as I love all genres and styles of music, I love choral music because it is the sound humans make using their innate instrument. No one can perform on my voice but me, and the combination of my voice with the voices of others is as real as music can get. Only the combination of voices can deliver a text in multiple lines of counterpoint and harmony.”
