One final farewell to our outgoing Artistic Director, Dr. Tim Sharp, who is much beloved in our community!

We were able to celebrate him after last week’s Israel In Egypt concert, and we’re grateful to everyone who joined us to share best wishes.

From his first downbeat with Tulsa Chorale (then Tulsa Oratorio Chorus) in 2009, Tim has been a dynamic leader. He helped grow the chorus from 60 singers to over 100 and solidified an annual four-concert season. He traveled with the chorus to Greece, Ireland, England, Austria, China and New York City, and created collaborative opportunities with well-known composers, including Eric Whitacre, Joan Szymko, Bob Chilcott, Jocelyn Hagen, Timothy Michael Powell, Andrea Ramsey and Rosephanye Powell. He also strengthened our relationship with local arts organizations, including Arts Alliance Tulsa, Ahha Tulsa, Tulsa Ballet, Tulsa Opera, Tulsa Symphony and Tulsa Signature Symphony. He lead our organization through a major rebrand from Tulsa Oratorio Chorus to Tulsa Chorale, and helped us persevere through the pandemic. Most importantly, he helped our members maintain a love for choral music and always kept us laughing.

Tim, we love you, we will miss you, and we look forward to seeing what lies ahead for you in Nashville!

Leave Tim your well wishes or share a memory on our Facebook page.
