Cathy Venable serves as pianist for Tulsa Chorale, Harvard Avenue Christian Church, Tulsa Symphony and the Bartlesville Symphony. Cathy spent 2015–2020 as Associate Conductor/Pianist for the National Tours of The Sound of Music, The Phantom of the Opera, and Disney’s Frozen. From 2003–2014, Cathy made New York City her home, serving as rehearsal pianist/pit pianist for the Broadway productions of Cinderella, Aladdin, Evita, The Light in the Piazza, Curtains, Sondheim on Sondheim, Les Misérables, The Visit, Wonderful Town, Beauty and the Beast, The Apple Tree, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Anything Goes. Cathy performed at Carnegie/Weill Hall in 2008 with tenor Brian Cheney and in 2012 with Steven Ryan in the American premiere of the Gilded Goldbergs for two pianos. At Tulsa Opera, Cathy conducted Into the Woods in 2023 and will conduct The Pirates of Penzance in 2026. Since 2024, Cathy has been on the faculty of the Kristin Chenoweth Broadway Boot Camp for highschoolers at the Broken Arrow PAC. Cathy is a graduate of Northwestern University (Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance) and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (Master of Music in Piano Accompanying).
